From February 2 to 4, after three days’ brilliant debates of 51 arbitration moot trials, the 2nd CIETAC International Investment Arbitration Moot came to a successful conclusion. Out of the 30 teams from colleges and universities across China participating in the Moot, the Tsinghua University team emerged triumphantly to win the championship in China and was entered for the 13th Frankfurt Investment Arbitration Moot Court to be held in March 2021. Fredrik Lindmark, a member of the Tsinghua University team, won the title of “Semifinal Best Advocate”.

The Tsinghua University team was successfully formed in November 2020, with Professor Jane Willems and postdoctoral fellow Zhao Chunlei as coaches, Grade 2020 graduate student Fredrik Lindmark, Grade 2019 graduate student Zhou Mengdi, and Grade 2019 graduate student Jiang Xinyue as advocates, and Grade 2020 graduate student Zhai Yufan, Grade 2020 graduate student Jia Ye and Grade 2019 undergraduate student Ke Jingshu as researchers.

Team members said that at the preparatory stage, the team received careful guidance from coaches and other professors of the law school, as well as the support and help of Sun Yirong, a member of last year’s team. They expressed their heartfelt thanks to all the people who had helped the team, and looked forward to scaling new heights while representing Tsinghua University in the international competition in March 2021!
